Position Overview

Premise One is seeking a motivated, organized, and results-driven Inside Sales Representative to join our growing sales team.

This position combines sales support, customer relationship management, and direct revenue-generating responsibilities. The Inside Sales Representative will support outside sales representatives and key account managers while independently managing assigned accounts, smaller sales opportunities, and customer inquiries.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, comfortable working with technology, and capable of managing multiple sales opportunities simultaneously. This individual should take ownership of customer requests and actively contribute to revenue growth rather than simply processing transactions.

The position works closely with outside sales, estimating, engineering, purchasing, and project management to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Support & Account Coordination

  • Support outside sales representatives and key account managers with daily sales activities.

  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries, pricing requests, and product availability questions.

  • Prepare and coordinate quotations, proposals, and customer-facing sales documentation.

  • Assist with RFQs, RFPs, and other customer purchasing requirements.

  • Coordinate with estimating and engineering on projects requiring technical design or installation labor.

  • Provide regular updates on customer requests, pending quotations, and open opportunities.

  • Help identify and resolve issues that could delay a customer purchase or project award.

Direct Sales & Account Management

  • Independently manage assigned customer accounts and smaller sales opportunities.

  • Develop relationships with existing customers to identify additional business.

  • Proactively contact customers regarding system upgrades, software renewals, service agreements, and equipment replacements.

  • Identify and qualify new sales opportunities through inbound leads, customer referrals, and outbound prospecting.

  • Manage assigned sales opportunities from initial inquiry through quotation, follow-up, negotiation, and closure.

  • Coordinate larger or more complex opportunities with outside sales representatives and key account managers.

  • Meet or exceed assigned sales and revenue performance goals.

Quotations & Opportunity Management

  • Prepare accurate quotations for security equipment, software licensing, renewals, and related services.

  • Coordinate with manufacturers and distributors to obtain competitive pricing, product availability, and lead times.

  • Identify potential product substitutions and alternatives in coordination with technical personnel.

  • Proactively follow up on outstanding quotations to improve close rates and reduce stalled opportunities.

  • Maintain accurate opportunity values, expected closing dates, and sales stages within the CRM system.

  • Coordinate the transition of awarded opportunities to purchasing, project management, and operations.

  • Ensure required customer purchase orders and supporting documentation are complete.

Customer Service & Relationship Development

  • Serve as a primary sales contact for assigned accounts and customer inquiries.

  • Maintain professional relationships with customers, manufacturer representatives, and distribution partners.

  • Provide timely communication regarding quotation status, pricing, product availability, and order-related questions.

  • Identify customer concerns early and coordinate appropriate internal resources to resolve them.

  • Deliver a responsive, knowledgeable, and professional customer experience.

CRM & Sales Performance

  • Maintain accurate and current customer, contact, and opportunity information in the company's CRM system.

  • Document customer interactions, follow-up activities, and sales progress.

  • Track open quotations, pending opportunities, and renewal dates.

  • Participate in sales pipeline reviews and forecasting activities.

  • Achieve established performance expectations related to sales activity, quotation turnaround, customer follow-up, and revenue generation.

Product & Industry Knowledge

  • Develop working knowledge of IP video surveillance, access control, video management software, cloud-based solutions, and integrated security technologies.

  • Become familiar with Premise One's manufacturer partners, including Milestone, Axis, Hanwha, LenelS2, Avigilon, Genetec, and other leading technology providers.
